A Qatari student delegation is participating in the 15th International Junior Science Olympiad being held in Botswana. The competition is the largest science event involving students under the age of 16 years from more than 40 countries. Qatar participated in the competition for the first time with a delegation of students headed by Fatima al Rashid, the head of science department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The event organized in Gaborone from the 2nd December until 11th December 2018., in which students compete through a series of theoretical and practical tests. The competition aims to stimulate students' talent in the different fields of natural sciences. Qatar's students have undergone training on scientific and practical skills in preparation for their participation in the competition.
