His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Al-Nuaimi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Chairman of the Higher Committee hosting the International Junior Science Olympics 2019 in Qatar, approved the slogan of the Olympiad: [note: Following is the English translation of the official Arabic slogan] “Towards a Generation Enjoying the Skills of Tomorrow.”
This comes within the framework of the Ministry's preparations for the Olympiad, that will be held in Qatar from 3 to 11 December 2019 as the first Arab country to host this important event that comes within the targeted projects in the 2017-2022 Education Strategy of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as part and parcel for achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
Ms. Fawzia Al-Khater, the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs and deputy chairperson of the IJSO 2019 Supreme Committee, stated: “The slogan of the olympiad reflects the strategy of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in providing our students with the necessary skills for the future. Ms. Al-Khater added that “the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is coordinating with the various state bodies in preparation for the Olympiad. We are proud as Qatar is the first Arab country to host the tournament and have committed ourselves to organize a unique and unprecedented edition of the Olympiad in Doha to reflect the achievements of the State of Qatar in the field of education. We are keen to make this edition exceptional in terms of the number of participating countries and at all levels.”
Ms. Al-Khater added that our Qatari students are being prepared at the highest standards for the upcoming Olympiad in cooperation with Qatar University and the Education City universities. The technical and organizing committees also spare no efforts to accomplish the required tasks. Ms. Al-Khater praised Qatar for winning the award at the 2018 Olympiad, and the honourable results achieved by the students at the third Mathematics and Physics Olympiad hosted by the Omani capital, Muscat, from 6 to 10 October 2019.
